It Started With One Dog – And The Search For What Was Missing

When Autumn's dog started struggling with recurring digestive and skin issues, she did what most dog parents would do.

She tried different foods. Supplements. Routines. Recommendations.

Some things helped for a while. But the same problems kept coming back.

So Autumn stopped asking what else she could add and started asking a different question: What was missing in the first place?

Drawing on her background in holistic nutrition, she went back to the foods dogs traditionally relied on – whole-animal nutrition, nutrient-dense whole foods, healthy fats, and other nutritional inputs modern feeding can leave behind.

She began creating her own daily meal topper. And slowly, things started to change.

What began as one dog parent's search for a better answer became the idea behind Paw & Pasture.

Then We Asked Veterinarians the Same Question

Finding inspiration in nature was only the beginning.

Before creating the formula we'd ultimately put our name on, we shared our work with veterinarians and nutrition professionals and asked them to help us answer the same question: What are we still missing?

Together, we reviewed the formula through the lens of ingredient selection, nutritional support, intended use, safety, and everyday feeding.

And we listened.

What began as a 12-ingredient meal topper evolved into a 26-ingredient All-in-One Nutrition formula based on their feedback.

The result brought together two things we believe shouldn't be separated: the nutritional wisdom found in nature and the knowledge available through modern research and veterinary experience.
